Who's it for?
This course is aimed at all staff working in the care environment. Individuals will understand the importance of why we need to have infection control measures in the workplace. At the end of this training course the learner will be able to state the obligations and responsibilities that should be performed when dealing with the infection control issue. The learner will be able to demonstrate and explain hand washing techniques along with having an understanding of maintaining a clean environment.
Course content includes:
- The meaning and importance of infection control
- Legislation and Management of infection control in the UK
- Practicing infection control
- Universal precautions
- Infection and its causes
- How infection spreads
- How to fight infection
- Making and breaking the chain of infection
- Personal Health and Hygiene, including hand washing techniques
- Keeping a clean working environment
How long?
One day, normally 0900-1300
Qualification:
