Health & Safety is important but WOW how boring!
Health and Safety and First Aid is something that every business in the UK needs to take very seriously – for their own good. But it’s no secret that for most people, health and safety is complicated, boring, stressful, overwhelming – or all of the above.
A few years ago now we did our main course. We found the subject of health & safety to be extremely boring, and although we are not guilty of falling asleep during lectures it is not an exaggeration to say that it was not a rare event to start hearing snoring in the class room! Even the lecturer admitted on more than one occasion that it was the most boring subject to teach.
Could it have been the lecturers fault and the way that he taught the subject? This obviously didn’t help his teaching style!
In the months that passed we decided to get ourselves on more and more health and safety courses from differing companies, but, alas, they were all the same. All the training companies - and there were dozens of them, had nothing new to give us, no fun, no laughs, nothing to captivate us.
About six months into this, when our office was strewn with the same old training handouts and plenty of headaches, we felt it was time to make a change.
